SPECIFICATIONS

May 24, 2012  Thanks Jonathan. I have an RS-900. So I set the sensitivity to low, and that 'fixed' the problem - it didn't immediately flip to battery. Again, my voltage is around 119V - no where near the low or middle limit to cause a switch to battery - that stays on battery.

In situations where the Back-UPS or connected equipment appears too sensitive to
input voltage, it may be necessary to adjust the transfer voltage. This is a simple task
requiring use of the front panel pushbutton. To adjust the transfer voltage, proceed as
follows:
1. Plug the Back-UPS into the utility power source. The Back-UPS will be in a

Standby Mode (no indicators lit).

2. Press the front panel pushbutton fully inward for 10 seconds. All indicators on the

Back-UPS will flash to acknowledge going into Programming Mode.

3. The Back-UPS will then indicate its current Sensitivity Setting, as shown in the

following table.

4. To select the Low Sensitivity setting, press the pushbutton until the yellow

indicator is flashing.

5. To select the Medium Sensitivity setting, press the pushbutton until the yellow

and red indicators (second and third from the top) are flashing.

6. To select the High Sensitivity setting, press the pushbutton until yellow and both

These outlets provide full-time protection from surges even if the
Back-UPS NS is switched OFF. Plug your printer, fax machine,
scanner, or other peripherals that do not need battery power into
these outlets.

Battery Back-up plus Surge Protection

These outlets are powered whenever the Back-UPS NS is
switched ON. During a power outage or other utility problems
(brownouts, over-voltages), these outlets will be powered for a
limited time by the Back-UPS NS. Plug your computer,
monitor, CD-ROM drive and one other data-sensitive device
such as an external disk or tape drive, or Home Phoneline
Networking Association (HPNA) device into these outlets.

Press the ON/OFF switch to power the unit
ON.

A single short beep and the green 'Power'
indicator confirms the Back-UPS NS is on and
ready to provide protection.

The Back-UPS NS should charge for at least 16
hours to ensure sufficient runtime. The unit is
being charged whenever it is connected to utility
power, whether the unit is turned ON or OFF.

If the red Building Wiring Fault indicator (located
on the end near the power cord) is lit, your
building wiring presents a shock hazard that
should be corrected by a qualified electrician.
